05/14/17 – My First Day Home

Even though I made this blog today, I think it’s important for you all to know exactly what I did yesterday (because, obviously, my life is very important)

Yesterday at around 6 am (EST), I had to wake up to go to the airport. For those of you that know me, you’re probably wondering how cranky I was at 6 am. The answer is: I was extremely cranky. Although after an uneventful airport journey, I was on the plane and ready to sleep. I probably slept for four hours out of the six-hour flight. For the last 2 hours, I pretty much just played Fairway Solitaire (because I have a weird obsession with mindless games). I fell asleep again when the plane was descending. I always do this and I realized recently that it’s probably a defense mechanism in case the plane crashes on the way down (YAY).

Anyway, after landing, my dad and I picked up our baggage, got the car (which he parked at the airport for five days), and headed out to go meet my mom and my sister. Because it was Mother’s Day yesterday, my mom got to decide where we ate for lunch. I forgot to mention that we landed at around 12 pm (PST), so lunch time! We went to this restaurant called Din Tai Fung and I ate so much that I felt sick. I had forgotten what it was like to not eat dining hall food, so I ate way too many soup dumplings. After eating, we headed home because we were all so full.

Once we got home, we all fell into food comas. I don’t think we did anything for a few hours (except maybe my dad, but he doesn’t like to do nothing). I took around three naps because I was so tired from traveling and eating. I realize I sound like a lump, but that’s okay. The last nap that I took was around two hours long, and I woke up to my family eating dinner. I don’t really know how they were eating because I was still super full from lunch, so I just ate watermelon because I love fruit. After dinner, my sister, my mom and I played Settlers of Catan. My mom didn’t know how to play, so it was a slow game. I’m not going to say who won, but I think you all can guess.

After we played, I just watched some TV before bed. I’ve also decided that I’m going to end every post with what TV shows I’ve watched, since I know my TV habits baffle some people. So that’s all for yesterday! (I don’t really know how to end a post yet, so I’ll work on it)
