My sister, my mom and I started the day by waking up at 8 am. Well, my mom and my sister were up at 8 getting ready, but I didn’t get out of bed until around 8:20. At around 8:40 we were off; we were on our way to a kid’s football game. Our family friend, Marymar, has twins who are super athletic and, honestly, make me wonder what I did when I was their age. They’re 6 now, and it’s weird to think that they’re grown up so much, and I’m pretty much the same as I was when they were born. Anyway, we went to Ryan’s last flag football game of the season. I was super shook when I found out they actually have plays and even more shook when I found out the program was sponsored by the NFL. After the game, we hung out for a bit and took some pictures (like the featured picture). We had some time to kill before the next game.
An hour later, we were watching Ryan and Rory play baseball. Thinking back to when I was 6, I don’t think I ever had the desire to have a ball being thrown at my face. To be honest, it’s probably because I wasn’t a huge baseball fan as a kid. It was really fun watching a kid’s baseball game, though, because they all started to lose focus after an hour. Rory was digging a hole in the dirt with her foot, another kid was yelling about a playdate, and another kid was sitting on the ground. After the game, Ryan and Rory wanted to race me around the bases. I was thinking of letting them win, but then this annoying kid on their baseball team also wanted to race, and I couldn’t let him win; he was yelling complaints all throughout the baseball game (WHILE HE WAS PLAYING).
After the baseball game, we went to Olive Garden. I don’t know if you’ve realized it yet, but I’m a fan of trash food. While we were waiting for a table, Rory almost fell asleep on my lap and Ryan LICKED MY FACE. Once we were called to go to a table, Rory was pretty cranky because she was tired; of course, she would NEVER admit that she was tired. Erica was feeling pretty sick right before we got to Olive Garden, but once we sat down to eat, she seemed to get so much more sick. We ended up leaving early, and I drove us home.
At home, we went through some more boxes of old stuff; we found many, many pictures from the first 4 years of my life and even some of my art and schoolwork from preschool and kindergarten. Apparently, when I was five, one of my most common phrases was. “can I watch TV.” SO, nothing has changed. I also really liked sending emails and playing on the computer. In Kindergarten, I won a third place prize for having the most AR points. In the box I was looking though, I found every single piece of paper printed after every single AR test I took in Kindergarten. I don’t know why my mom kept them, but it was really interesting to see what books I read; I read A LOT of Clifford and Arthur.
After spending hours looking at old memories and, sadly, throwing things away, Erica, my mom, and I played Sheriff (Shrek) of Nottingham before I went to my room to watch TV. I came back down to watch SNL, but then I just went back up to watch more TV.
