After tossing and turning all night, I woke up at around 7:30 with a huge headache. I decided to go back to bed, hoping the headache would go away. A little before 10, I woke up, once again, with a headache. Frustrated, I went downstairs to watch The Price is Right and sulk.
I pretty much sat on the couch and watched TV all day. While I was doing so, I did work on some of my schoolwork. Though, because of my headache, I didn’t get THAT much work done. It was a perfectly boring day, except that I forgot it was Wednesday. I remembered that we planned to go eat dinner at a buffet with our family for Eunice’s birthday. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE buffets, but I wasn’t super excited to drive an hour to get to said buffet with carsickness and a preexisting headache.
When my mom came home from work, we immediately left to go eat. Halfway through our trip, we found out that everyone was already there, except one of my uncles and one of my cousins. I think, maybe, because of this, my dad zoomed a little faster to the restaurant. And because of THAT, we almost DIED. My dad was trying to merge into the exit lane, but didn’t realize that there were poles ahead of us, put there to block people from merging. He cut in front of the car that was scarily close behind us and swerved to the right to avoid the poles. We were fine, but there was some screaming in the car.
I had only been to this buffet twice before (I think); it’s called Feast, which I guess is a fitting name. When we got there, everyone was already eating. I was really hungry, so I didn’t even really say hi; I just really wanted food. I ate A LOT of sushi and EVEN MORE dessert. We even had a picture taken of us at the buffet; it’s actually the only picture I have for this post. I don’t really know why we always take pictures at restaurants, but they’re memories, right?
We sat at that table for 2 hours just eating and gossiping, but ,eventually, people started to leave. First to leave was Nicole, Coby, and Nicole’s brother, Hans. I have no idea where they were going, and I didn’t really think to ask. When they left, my dad and his brothers only seemed to gossip more. I just kept eating shaved ice and talking to Erica, Eunice, and my mom. There were a few times when I thought we were going to leave, but then I turned to look at the dads, and Eunice’s dad would STILL be eating. He got there first, started eating first, and he was the LAST ONE eating. I really don’t know where he puts it all.
When we finally left, I fell asleep almost right away in the car. I say almost because my mom had us listen to a sermon in the car. That probably wasn’t the best idea considering we were all in food comas. Erica fell asleep and, after the recording was over, I quickly fell asleep too. When we got home, I was pretty groggy. So groggy that I don’t even really remember what I did; that’s a little sketchy. I think I may have watched an episode of Supergirl right before going to bed, but considering I don’t really remember, I might as well have been abducted by aliens.
