06/26/17 – I GOT A PARKING TICKET

Today’s TV

  • Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge 2.3

It was 7 in the morning. My mom knocked on my door and woke me up from an actual good night of sleep. My dad had someone coming to the house to look at the vents and the furnaces, so I had to take Erica to her biotech camp that started at 9. I didn’t actually get out of bed until 7:30 when I quickly got dressed. Then, Erica and I went to go check on Sydney before leaving.

I dropped Erica off at camp and left to go to work. I was working for Instacart scanning items at a Safeway in Seattle. I was there for around three hours before I decided to head home. I scanned SO MUCH milk and SO MANY cookies. My arms were cold and tired when I decided to leave. There was a slight issue though; I GOT A PARKING TICKET. I’m dumb, and I didn’t read the sign. So, there it was, sitting on my windshield: my first parking ticket. I didn’t really know what to do, but I told my parents that I’d get donuts for us, so I headed to Krispy Kreme.

I used to love Krispy Kreme as a kid. I would have watched the donuts on the conveyor belt for hours if my parents had let me. We didn’t go often, so every trip made me so happy. When I got in there, they weren’t any donuts on the conveyor belt, so I didn’t get distracted. I ordered a dozen glazed donuts for our neighbors, who always bring us donuts, and a dozen assorted donuts for my family. Honestly, other than the S’mores donut that I knew Erica would want, I just picked random donuts.

For some reason, I was scared that another parking ticket would just show up on my windshield as I walked out of Krispy Kreme. Fortunately, and expectedly, there wasn’t one. I tried to drive home as quickly as possible because I didn’t want the glaze on the donuts to melt, but there was some traffic, so I got to just sit in my car and think about my parking ticket some more.

I dropped the donuts off at home and headed to my neighbor’s house to check on their cat, Sydney. When I got there, I let Sydney outside and called the company that gave me the ticket. Because I was in Safeway the whole time, they voided the ticket! I was so relieved that I almost cried. After that situation was handled, I watered the flowers and the grass. My neighbor has so many flower because she has such a green thumb. I’m surprised I didn’t kill her flowers. When I was done watering the plants, I sat outside in the sun with Sydney until she wanted to go back inside. I did some homework and watched Sydney stare down the birds in the backyard. She’s twelve, but she is so energetic.

When I finally got home, I did more homework before dinner while watching TV with Erica. Even after dinner, I kept watching TV. Actually doing things during the day has made me so tired in the evening. A’l I want to do is watch TV or sleep.
